The PHIL REICHARDT MEMORIAL "HARD LUCK AWARD" was created in 2002. This is an
annual award for the person who endured the most hardship while on one of our "Annual Tours" in a Model T.
It is named after Phil Reichardt who was one of the club's longest-running Presidents. Phil was known for his generosity
and his love of giving out more trophies than anyone else, which is being carried on by his widow Flo, who is helping
with club functions and having a good spirit.
Donations for this trophy were mostly original Model T parts. A cracked crankshaft from Vic LaBantschnig;
Kwik Poly and Piston from Harold Bowden; Connecting Rod from Marlet Ort; Piston Rings, Valve and Timing
Gear from Karl Abe. The Design and creation was by Karl Abe.
Note that all of the parts are marked with the original name, even the third piston ring. Karl Abe removed the
unbelievably worn camshaft gear from a running engine.
